YSC Group WILL continue to meet through the summer! June 4 the YSC Sunday school will begin a month long study of Bill Hybel's book, "Just Walk Across The Room", which focuses on ways of sharing our faith. We meet in Keheley Room 121 every Sunday morning from  9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Come join us!

We have a garden! On Saturday, May 22 the Saint Andrew YSC group planted its first plants for the community garden. A big, big thanks to all who helped in donating materials, building beds, and planting! We are excited to help the garden grow and to work to let the garden be a way of better getting to know our neighbors!

Cell Phones for Haiti

Patti Cox, Carol Haisten, and Jessi Kessock will be going to Haiti for a mission trip September 15-22. We are collecting good used cell phones for three of the young men who serve as our interpreters and security.  When Gel, Achka and Kalipso are not working as interpreters, they have a small business of refurbishing used cell phones. We try to collect as many as possible to bring to them on our trips.  Your support of this effort is greatly appreciated.

Please consider donating your good, used cell phones (plus chargers, if you have them).  Cell phones with SIM cards are the most useful to them. Smart phones with cracked screens are acceptable. The best phones for refurbishing are typically less than 7-8 years old.  Tablets and laptop computers in good condition may also be accepted.

A box labeled “Cell Phones for Haiti” will be in the lobby of the Keheley Center.  Let’s fill up the box and help these wonderful Christian young men in their efforts to provide for their families. Thank  you.

Questions:  Contact Carol at 770/926-6918.

Don Owenby, who has been running soundboard for the 9:30 service for many years, will be “retiring” from soundboard duties. He will be greatly missed. The praise team is looking for an individual with a heart for worship who would be interested in sharing soundboard duties with one or two other people.

Love Offering

We have so many blessings to be thankful for here at St. Andrew United Methodist Church. Our staff always seems to go above and beyond what is expected and are a huge part of what makes St. Andrew so special. Please prayerfully consider your gift of a “love offering” during this season of giving to show our appreciation to these individuals who do so much for us all year. Please mark your check “love offering” on the memo line and put it in the offering plate, or, if more convenient, you can go online and indicate what it is for. All gifts should be received by December 21st.

Thank you so much for your consideration and Merry Christmas! St. Andrew UMC SPRC

All women in the church are invited to join our
UMW Circles
Check out our NEXT Meeting dates.

Esther Circle

Our next Esther Circle meeting is Monday, May 8th at 7:00 pm. The owner of the Leaning Ladder, Sue Hasslinger, will give a cooking presentation and incorporate tasting infused olive oils and vinegars into our dinner. Randee Senseney is giving our devotion, and Mary Case and Pat Merrick are the dinner hostesses.

Our mission focus will be bringing donations of new or used children’s books for the MUST summer lunch program. These can be for age baby through high school, and you can usually find a good assortment at Goodwill or American Thrift stores. Please make sure the content is church-appropriate.

We are very excited to have Sue joining us, and hope everyone will come out for a delicious and informative program!

We look forward to seeing you on Monday. Bring a friend!

Blessings from Pam and Diane

If you are interested in participating in a St. Andrew Caregiver’s Support Group, please call or email Bill Gibson at 678-643-3348 or  The purpose of this group would be to help those who are serving others to find support, resources, and spiritual help.

Types of caregivers include elderly, long term sickness, disability, children or any similar situation.  Because so many of the issues that caregivers face are common, this group would not focus on one area or disease like Alzheimer’s.

 Did YOU know.......
Red Bucket
The red bucket campaign has been in place for a few years and we have been able to reduce the mortgage balance a great deal through this campaign.  This year the finance committee is asking each member to make a sacrifice of one dollar each day to go toward our red bucket campaign and reduce our mortgage balance.  We are asking this in addition to your regular giving.  If every member contributed in this manner we would be able to reduce the balance on our mortgage by over $100,000 each year.  Be sure to mark your check “red bucket”.
Calling All Nurses
There are so many activities at St. Andrew and many children to keep safe.
We would love to know who are our members who are registered nurses.  We  would live to have you available at times likes Vacation Bible School.  But we can also do other activities to teach young people how to take care of
We would appreciate having you call Lorna Martin or leave a note with Carol in the church office.  All we need is your name and phone number.  We will contact you then to help us make suggestions and give us ideas for how to use our nursing skills to help youngsters and youth at St. Andrew.
