History

In April of 1962, Blackwell School was the meeting place for a small group of dedicated Methodists beginning a new church. They chose the name St. Andrew, since the apostle Andrew was considered a “do-er”, doing the work of the Lord. The first sanctuary, completed in 1964, is now our Community Room. The Education Building opened in 1973, the present sanctuary was built in 1978, and our Keheley Center opened in 1999. Today, our church family has grown to include more than 350 families dedicated to doing the work of the Lord.

Our mission at St. Andrew United Methodist Church is to be a family of caring, nurturing followers of Jesus Christ, welcoming all those seeking to know and grow in God’s service.

We accomplish this through various ministries in which we hope all members of our congregation will become involved. We feel that everyone–every single person with whom we have the pleasure of welcoming into our church– has a talent that is theirs through the grace of God. We hope that you will help us discover that talent within you and help you to use it to glorify Him. Whether it be to serve on a church committee, volunteer to help beautify the sanctuary, work with the children or youth, or sing in the choir, we want you to feel a part of our family.

All of that said, we would be honored if you would join us for what we feel is the most defining and satisfying hour of the week.
