Bring Your Worst

Matthew 11:28

Jesus said, "Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

When emotions are overwhelming and you're not sure how to press on based on conviction. go back to the source. We can bring everything to Jesus, including what we might feel is our worst. He can handle our childish tantrums, our hate-filled anger. and our crushing envy.

Sometimes the heavy burdens that weigh down your heart make it feel impossible to live from a place of conviction. The emotions you carry can be exhausting and eat you up until it feels as though you have the courage and the strength to muster up only a half-hearted prayer. Whatever you have, it's enough for Jesus.

Our emotions are sometimes too big to deal with on our own, and in those moments , we don't have to pretend to be strong. Jesus promises to give us rest in exchange for our brokenness and burdensome loads. Instead of unending sadness, He will give us joy. Instead of pointless despair He will give us hope. Instead of unguided anger, He will give us soft hearts. Jesus will always take the burdens that weigh us down and give us the rest we need because He loves us that much.

Running your race is so much easier without a heavy load on your back. If you feel too weak today to work through what you feel, lay it all before Jesus. He called you to pursue a mission possible life.

Questions to Ponder

  • Are you overwhelmed by your emotions?

  • Do you believe you can carry everything to Jesus?

  • Do you believe that He loves you enough for you to do this?
