Here I Am to Worship
Revelation 5 :11-14
Then I heard every creature in Heaven and earth, in underworld and sea, join in, all voices in all places, singing: To the One on the Throne! To the Lamb! The blessing, the honor, the glory, the strength, For age after age after age. The Four Animals called out, “Oh, Yes!” The Elders fell to their knees and worshiped.
Here I am to worship,
Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that You're my God.
"Here I Am To Worship" – by Hillsong
Going to church on a Sunday morning feels very spiritual. The music, prayers, and messages make you feel like God's right there with you. The Hillsong chorusabove really hits home for me, showing how worship is both personal and communal. Worshipping together makes it special, showing that praising God is something we choose to do.
One Sunday, after the service, someone said, "That service didn’t really feed me!" This made me think. In a Disciple Bible Study class, we talked about how our view of worship depends on who we think the audience is. At first, it was confusing because I saw myself as part of the audience in the pews. But then we discussed that God is actually the audience, and we are the performers. We are there to worship God, everything we think, do, sing, and pray is meant to show reverence to God.
This changed how I see church services. It makes you wonder: during worship, where's God? Is He on stage or watching from behind? How you answer this affects how you feel about Sunday services. What do you think?
