Does God Promise and Not Fulfill?

Numbers 23:19
God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?

Have you ever felt that life was a chore? Well, I have recently. It is frustrating to promise one thing, then other duties come and make things more difficult to achieve the promise. Suddenly your schedule is piled with to-dos and little time for rest and/or evaluation. So, what does the Bible say about how to handle these times?

When Jesus faced adversity, he consistently followed after what was most essential: seeking God the Father in prayer. Jesus counted on God to provide direction. When the disciples needed Jesus, they could always count on Him to be true to His Word. Jesus is always reliable: when He promises, He delivers! Sometimes we need to step away from our practices, routines, and to-do lists and focus in the same manner.

Perhaps let Jesus help you prioritize. Take one of the many to-dos and ask Jesus to help you focus on making good with what is on the plate, just for today. God accomplishes all things in God’s time, and Jesus knew this. He repeatedly went to his Father in prayer. Why do we think we cannot do the same thing as Jesus would do? We should be following the guidelines. Jesus has not left you alone. He promised that He would always be there and He never fails to act on your behalf. You simply need to ask Jesus for help.

Maybe the task does not get completed on the schedule that you first set, but that does not mean you will not get it done. What promises do you still need to fulfill? Choose one and ask Jesus to help you make good on it today.
